Breeanne Heusdens is a PhD student. She has a BS in Geological Engineering from MTU, followed by an Accelerated Geophysics MS and Foundations of Data Science graduate certificate also from MTU. Her previous focuses have been on exploration geophysics during her MS and interplanetary geophysics while in the MINE enterprise. Breeanne’s current research is in using deep learning algorithms to create a machine learning-based full waveform inversion algorithm to use in soil moisture estimation from ground penetrating radar data. Her hobbies outside of school include hiking with her dog, video games, and collecting rocks.
